A scammer by the name of operator Linkt tricked a Gold Coast resident by sending a text message asking for the use the toll road. It cost her nearly $4000. Surprisingly she is not the only one who fell for this scam. According To The Australian Consumer and Competition Commission (ACCC), there have been hundreds of victims. The authority has received 700 reports in the past year, totalling more than $29,000.
